    It all started with an idea as many projects do, to restore the Evington War Memorial site and include a local social historical project themed on WW1 to commemorate the fallen during this centenary year, lest we forget. Parks Services are leading the restoration and improvements to the site and the Friends of Evington are leading the social element of the project. We are both linking arms to bring together ideas, support each other and find resources to bring the project to fruition.     Campaign for School Gardening

    This campaign is in its early stages in Evington.  Nationally, the Royal Horticultural Society is encouraging and supporting all schools to develop and actively use a school garden.  They provide start-up kits and registration schemes  (www.rhs.org.uk/schoolgardening).  Research shows that school gardening boosts child development, teaches life skills and make children healthier and happier.
