  • Evington in Bloom

    This year's entry (2015) for Evington in Bloom will have six 'It's Your Neighbourhood groups supporting the competition. We will be competing against other urban areas in the East Midlands. The picture shows some 2014 displays in Evington Village.

  • Evington War memorial with floodlighting

    Evington War memorial was refurbished in 2014 through a partnership between Leicester City Council and the local charity Friends of Evington. There were grants from LCC and the Heritage Lottery which together made the activities and events in Evington during 2014 in commemoration of WW1 so successful because of the involvement of many groups and dedicated volunteers.

Leicester City Council’s Youth Service summer programme 2015 has the answer.  This year it’s bigger and better and the activities are still free.  They have a range of activities including the usual sporting events, performance arts and crafts, music and dance for all young people to get involved in. The programme starts with one of 6 festival events on Saturday 11th July from 1pm at Jubilee Square in Leicester City Centre.
