WHERE ARE LEICESTER'S DAUGHTERS?

Dear Editor,

At the last meeting of the Leicestershire Speakers and in the true spirit of a good speakers' club, Anne Jones told us about the City of Leicester's plans for a Walk of Fame. She increased our knowledge of ‘Sons of Leicester' already immortalised in place names such as Simon de Montfort and Richard III (buried in Leicester – somewhere)? David Attenborough and Englebert Humperdink must wait their turns for permanent recognition. But, Anne wanted to know, where are the daughters? Answers to the Evington Echo, please. For more details of these meetings, which are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm at the Blaby Drop-In Centre, ring Anne Jones on 2772295. www.leicsspeakers.co.uk.
