June and July in Evington are always so crammed full of events! I hope you managed to get along to some, whether it was at the Botanic Gardens, in the Park, the Vicarage, the many fetes at our local schools or our big community event, the Village Fete and Show (see page 8/9).

The Friends of Evington Park and Village Green expect to have a final offer from Biffawards for £41,300.25 for a new climbing frame (for 7-14 year olds) and a roundabout on Evington Village Green. Watch the noticeboards and Echo website for more information.

Also congratulations to Riaz Ravat who received the Leicestershire First Citizenship Award and £3,000 for his work in developing good interfaith relations.
