MASJID UMAR'S PROPOSED EDUCATION CENTRE With the grace and mercy of the Almighty, construction work adjacent to Masjid Umar has started. Four residential properties on Evington Drive have now been demolished and in their place a purpose built Education Centre will be erected.
The new building is designed to provide an attractive ambience to this area and will blend and complement the existing Mosque. The garden areas of the four houses will provide increased parking facilities. The proposed Centre will be a purpose built Madrasah (supplementary school) and Nursery. It will give us a long term investment for our youth and community providing a modern and effective learning environment with increased classrooms, scope for other provisions such as library, bookshop, community use, youth and women's activities, seminars, workshops and so forth. When the building works are completed we do intend to have an open day for all members of the public so they can view the facilities and gain an insight of our humble objectives. In the meantime, we take this opportunity to apologise to all that are affected for the inconvenience we may cause whilst building works are ongoing. If you would like to find out more on the extension or other Masjid Umar news, you can do so via our website www.masjid-umar.org Gulam Husain |
