INTERFAITH FOOTBALL MATCH

On Sunday 6th June 2010, St Philip's Centre and the Community Football Academy organised the annual interfaith football tournament. The event took place at Judgemeadow Community College. The main highlight of the tournament was the match between the Multi Faith Leaders versus Leicestershire Constabulary. In the past, the Faith Leaders have always won this particular contest but on this occasion it was the Police who won with the final score being 5-0!

Riaz Ravat from the St Philip's Centre said, “The interfaith football tournament is just one way in which we promote good community relations. Sport is an important bridge builder and the football tournament is part of a wider programme of interfaith action which also includes Cricket, 'Big Tidy Up' campaigns, charity dinners and dialogue. Well done to both the Police and the Faith Leaders' teams on their efforts this year”.
