EVINGTON HILL LADIES' CLUB
Sally Creedon of Stoneygate, the daughter in law of our Chairman, is pictured in Paris with her cousin, John, after competing in The National Autistic Society's 215 mile, 3 day, London to Paris bike ride: Windsor to Portsmouth, overnight crossing and two days cycling in France ending up at the Eiffel Tower. Sally, who has a 17 year old son who was diagnosed with mild autism as a three year old, was in a group of 30 riders from all over the country, hoping to raise £50,000 for the Society. She attended our May meeting in her cycle gear and showed us her bike. Sally told us that she had cycled over 1,000 miles in training and we have since learned that she has raised about £3,500 in sponsorship. Anyone wishing to contribute should visit www.virginmoneygiving.com/Sally Creedon. We then welcomed Mike Bull who gave us an illustrated talk on the history and working of the Leicester Drama Society which has completed over 70 seasons. The Little Theatre has its own library of scripts, Archive Department, Members' Magazine and Costume Hire Department. Interestingly, up to 100 people are working in the theatre whilst a Show is on. At our June meeting Mike Leonard gave an interesting if somewhat irreverent talk on the history and pitfalls of political correctness. See the Echo's Diary, or telephone 273 9262 for more details of our meetings. A Committee Member
