MAYFLOWER METHODIST CHURCH Our event “My Favourite Things” in July was about sharing objects that enhance people's lives and enable them to cope. We saw paintings from someone who had been registered partially sighted, there were flower arrangements, home made cards, needlework, baking, poetry, music and an astonishing collection of ladybird items. In September our Women's Fellowship and other groups start again. We look forward to our Thanksgiving service on 26th September when the whole Church is decorated with fruit, flowers, vegetables and produce. The preacher will be Rev Gordon Webb who has recently come to retire at Great Glen. This is followed by our Pets Service on 3rd October (see Dates for Your Diary). Our premises are used by a number of organisations, including Dance groups for children and adults, and Bridge Clubs. The Leicester Operatic Players use our rooms for weekly rehearsals, and on Saturday 2nd October they are to stage a performance in our Church Hall at 7.30pm. All are welcome to this event!
