OPAL SURVEYS IN EVINGTON PARK Penny Brown, Park Officer, has led two scientific surveys in Evington Park. One was about the quality of the air we breathe and involved looking at different types of lichens, the other was about water quality and involved five tests that looked at the colour, pH, pond life, toads, frogs, newts and dragonflies and metals in the park's ponds. The results of these two surveys and other surveys across Leicester were submitted to the OPAL website and these will help experts to understand the impact of invisible pollutants in our city and nationwide. Full accounts of these two surveys are available on the Evington Echo website at www.evingtonecho.co.uk
