PRINCIPAL RETIRES
David Powell, Principal of Judgemeadow Community College, is leaving after 15 years. He summed up the ethos and culture of the school in one word, “Judgemeadowness” - as this exemplifies its unique qualities. The school is now in the Top 20 “Lead Behaviour School Nationally”, and has received an “Outstanding” from Ofsted. For the past 5 years David has been working with designers on the new school building and said, “It is the best building in Britain ”. His most memorable moment was moving into the new school and seeing the looks of amazement on students' faces. He feels that he is leaving Judgemeadow at a peak, and is privileged and honoured to have worked with young people. David has lived their mission statement: “working together to ensure the highest quality of education for each individual student through culture of continual improvement.” When asked what he will miss the most, David replied “The students as well as the staff, and the experience of everyday being different will also be treasured.” David will continue to work as an education consultant in other schools as well as spend more time with his 5 year old son. He is planning to live with family in France and learn to play golf. Gurjeet Kaur |
