EVINGTON HILL LADIES CLUB

Harvest Supper
The Ladies' Club meets at 7.30pm every third Wednesday of the month in Evington Village Hall. There is a programme of entertaining guest speakers and social events. Over the summer we had a good variety of talks including one on the history of cinema in Leicester, a talk on badgers, and the experiences of a librarian plus a lively evening of amusing anecdotes combined with a cheese tasting. Membership has grown steadily throughout 2009 and now stands at 43, the majority of whom attended October's Harvest Supper. This evening included a sales table of donated items, which succeeded in raising over £40 in less than 20 minutes. Items left unsold were donated to the COG Shop in Main Street. New members will be given a warm welcome and our programme is always advertised in the Echo's Diary, or phone 273 9262 for more details.
