BOOKSTART

This year we are celebrating 20 years of Bookstart – the much-loved reading programme that gifts free books to babies and three-year-olds. Bookstart exists to give every child a flying start in life, and that’s why we’ll be asking for your support to help secure it for future generations. We’d love for you to be involved in the Bookstart 20th year celebrations by making a simple pledge to share 20 books in 2012 with your child.
You could:
Join the library and find great books to borrow for free. Evington Library hold Under 5s sessions every Tuesday morning 10.00 – 11.00am with activities, stories and songs.
Share bedtime stories.
Share books on the go.
Keep sharing stories, books and rhymes. Don’t stop at 20!
Look out for the pledge postcard in your local library from February. The Leicester library website is www.leicester.gov/libraries and to help inspire your book sharing visit www.booktrust.org.uk

I Love Reading competition: which book makes you happy? Tell us why in no more than 50 words and win your favourite paperbacks.
