FLOWERS IN WINTERTIME

The mild winter in Evington has meant that summer flowers are still blooming at the beginning of January. At the War memorial you could see pelargoniums, on the Village Green there were night-scented stocks, marigolds, salvias and penstemons and in local gardens you could see many roses, mahonias, poppies flowering yukkas and a late flowering of primulas and heathers.
