THE KRISHNA AVANTI PRIMARY SCHOOL IN EVINGTON

I am very pleased to be able to introduce our new Primary School to the community of Evington. With Evington Hall at its centre we are blessed with some wonderful grounds around us and are situated next door to St Paul’s Roman Catholic School.
Our school opened its doors on 1st September 2011, with two reception classes. “Exciting, rewarding and magical,” were the words used by one of the teachers to describe the first term and Banshi, our assistant chef said, “the staff here… very, very good!” We expect to grow our school with an additional two classes each year until it reaches Yr 6 in 2017.
Educational excellence, Character formation and Spiritual insight are our ideals. Within this, our identity is influenced by our commitment to vegetarian school dinners, yoga, meditation and a commitment for our pupils to grow as many vegetables as possible! We are open to everyone from any faith or none!
During this busy first term our pupils and staff have performed a Diwali Musical Celebration and a Nativity Play (pictured), hosted by our good neighbours ‘St Pau’ls. Our assemblies have been enriched by many diverse speakers such as those from the Buddhist Temple, local Synagogue and Church. We also had our Chair of Governors, Mr Gajjar, introduce the 5 themes of the Bhagavad Gita.

And finally, the work to renovate the site has begun. Over the next 8 months, the school site will be transformed into a beautiful environment for learning. I look forward to inviting you to look around once it’s all complete.
