EDITORIAL Many congratulations to the 9th Leicester Scouts who celebrate their 100th anniversary this summer. They are the oldest group in the City. Pauline Burton, Scout Leader, said, “we believe that young people develop most when they are learning by doing. They need to be given responsibility, learn to work in teams and think for themselves.” (See page 9 for details of scout groups.) Rowlatts Hill Neighbourhood Housing Office Team (2527007) have launched their over 60s initiative. They intend to visit all council tenants over the age of 60. At a successful coffee morning in Evington House there were displays from the Red Cross, Police, Blue Badge, LCC Sheltered Housing, Star, Easy Move and Benefits and Housing. Our local TARA group (see advert below) works closely with the Housing Office team. This edition is very full of events for the summer. Don't forget to check out the ‘Dates for Your Diary' list on page 15 and fill up your own diary! Helen |
