8th AUGUST 2009, BOOK THIS DATE IN YOUR DIARY NOW FOR THE VILLAGE FETE!

We have been successful with our grant applications. Grants have been received from Leicester City Council's Community Cohesion Fund and Community Chest. As a result of this we are having a second marquee which will provide cover for some of our stall-holders. Whatever the weather there will be plenty to see and do. All afternoon you will be entertained by performers from a ‘Circus Workshop' including stilt walkers, giant bubbles, marionettes and balloons. The ever popular Seaforth Highland dancers and pipers are there and there will be displays by people from youth organisations. When you venture over to the Village Hall for refreshments you will be serenaded by the Leicester Barber Shop Chorus. St. Denys Church will be exhibiting various skills associated with the church and its congregation. The Chapel will also have appropriate displays.

The fete brochure will be available towards the end of May from many local shops and organisations. The brochure can also be viewed on-line at www.evingtonvillage.org.uk The committee have put much time and effort into providing a wide range of show classes to appeal to everyone. Now we need YOU to do your part by entering – age and ability are not important – it's good fun and a way of celebrating local talent.

Can you help with prizes? Suitable unused and ‘in-date' items for tombola, please take to Evington Village Post Office and raffle and show prizes to Bennett's Home and Garden Supplies, 30 Main Street Evington.
