EDITORIAL

I am pleased to welcome the following volunteers to the Echo team: Phil Brown as layout manager, Suresh Mistry as treasurer, Sandy Yeates as graphic artist and Gurjeet Kaur as a reporter. Doug Gillain will now become our accountant, going back to the role he had before he became our treasurer, about five years ago. I'd like to thank him and Gill Gillain for all their hard work. Input from new people will make the Echo more sustainable.

Dates for Your Diary on page 15 is full of many and varied events. There is always lots going on this time of year. Some immediate events are:

The Bands in Evington Park, which follow each other on consecutive Sundays on 6th and 13th June from 3-4pm.

Sing for Water - the Riverside Festival supporting Water Aid, all day on 6th June.

The Oadby Society of Artists' annual exhibition at Brocks Hill Visitors Centre is from 10am - 6pm from 4th - 6th June.

I hope you all enjoy the summer in Evington

Helen
