ON THE BUSES PART II Dear Editor, Further to my previous letter regarding the removal of the bus shelter at the top of Evington Lane, Coplow Avenue corner in a previous Echo, I am so happy to report that we now have a brand new shelter with a lovely little red bus No. 81 run by Centre Bus Company. It comes on time and is a much more reliable service. I would particularly like to publicly thank Councillor Iqbal Desai, whom I first approached about this matter, and subsequently Patrick Kitterick, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, for their help. They both have an interest in Leicester Older People's Forum, which meets each month at the Town Hall where matters concerning elderly people are discussed and dealt with in an appropriate way. Last, but not least, I'm sure many other passengers would agree with me, we now have a FANTASTIC regular driver by the name of Tom. He is a shining example of what bus drivers should be, providing excellent service to everyone, so polite and friendly too. My respect and credit is given to all concerned. Wendy Polydorou. P.S. Councillor Abdul Osman is now in charge of Regeneration and Transport. |
