ST JOSEPH'S CHURCH, UPPINGHAM ROAD Dean, Stewart, Siobhan and Tiffany are the senior members of our dedicated team of altar servers. Dean and Stewart have been servers since they were school boys and the girls are students at St Paul's School. Siobhan is currently sitting her GCSEs and Tiffany is in year 7. The altar servers assist the parish priest at weekend masses and on other occasions, particularly at Christmas and Easter, school and business work permitting. The entire parish appreciates the time and effort which the young people put into their duties and their valuable commitment to the life of the Church.
The Down to Earth Gardeners' Question Time evening with BBC Radio Leicester, broadcast on Sunday 25th April, was a huge success and succeeded in raising £196 for parish funds whilst our charity support group's spring coffee morning raised £300 to be divided between 2 charities - The Society for the Unborn Child, and Family Life. Plans are in hand for our Malta pilgrimage in February 2011 and places are being booked now. Gail Gray |
