EVINGTON SCHOOLS CONTRIBUTE HIGHLY TO THE RECORD BREAKING GCSE RESULTS IN LEICESTER

Leicester's GCSE grades reach an all time high as statistics show that ‘figures in the county have been rising steadily over the past few years and have shown an increase of 3% compared to results in 2008', with secondary schools in Evington securing their place at the top end of the ranking table! It is pleasing to know that every secondary school in Evington managed to ensure that at least 45% of their students gained grades from A* to C in a minimum of 5 subjects.

None of the secondary schools based in Evington ranked below number 6 in the ranking table that contained every secondary school in Leicester. Crown Hills Community College and The City of Leicester College secured 6th place as 45% of their students gained 5 A* to C grades coming in just below Saint Paul's Catholic School which gained a pass rate of 53% to take up 5th place on the table.

Judgemeadow Community College managed to performed very well as it occupied 3rd place on the ranking table with a fantastic pass rate of 56% so it was no surprise when Mr Powell, the Principal at Judgemeadow said, “We were delighted that this year ten of our very able students achieved A or A* grades in every one of their GCSEs, and one student achieved 10 A* grades!” However, one Evington based secondary school was to outperform others as it proudly stood at the top of the ranking table with a stunning pass rate of 70%. This was the Madani Muslim High School located on Evington Valley Road which only started running at the beginning of year 2008!

It is extremely satisfying to know that schools of Evington are doing so well educationally and we hope that these brilliant performances are repeated by students in years to come.
