MURDER IN THE PARK A ‘WHO-DUN IT'
Murder in the Park is an annual event that has been taking place in Evington Park for the last five years. The event is based on the board game ‘Cluedo' where there is a murder and the players aim is to deduce the details of the murder and find out from the characters who is responsible for the homicide. However there was a twist to this event as the characters were acting in order to give clues to help people narrow down the suspects. Andrew who played the part of the Doctor claimed he was “really enjoying it and confessed how “hard” it was to “get out of character”. This year the weather was pleasant which resulted in a good turnout of about seventy people participating in the event throughout the day. It was great to see people of different age groups being brought together by this event! Rachael Lawton, one of the organisers of the event commented, “We try new events throughout the year to bring people coming back to the park by linking the public to the park and to the Friends group.” The script itself was written by Sarah who was presented with a bouquet of flowers at the end of the day for her hard work. As there were many people who had suspected the correct character the person who won was picked randomly. This year, at the end of the fun filled day, the lucky Ann Upfold was announced the winner and received a prize! Anisha Patel |
