WHITEHALL RUNS A MINI MARATHON
Earlier this year all of Whitehall's pupils and staff ran a mini-marathon to raise money for the Children's Hospital at Leicester Royal Infirmary. Money was raised to sponsor two consultants from the hospital, Mr. David Luyt and Mr. Hitesh Pandya, who were running in the London Marathon; whereas they were running the whole 26 miles the children and staff all ran at least one lap of the Whitehall track; not quite so far but a real achievement considering even the youngest children took part. Altogether they ran over 63 miles. The consultants and the hospital's mascot ,Doctor Fox, attended a special assembly where they were presented with a huge cheque for over £400 for the Children's Hospital. Addy Tyler |
