Active Arts in Countesthorpe

Active artsActive Arts are certainly living up to our name this Spring, with a variety of events to invite you to!

Saturday 27th  will see the Helix Ensemble’s Annual Concert in St Andrews Church Countesthorpe LE8 5QX, described as ‘music old and new combined in a concert full of rhythm and melody’.  Conductor Toby Purser who regulars will remember from two years ago will lead us through works by Dvorak, Delius and Beethoven and also Ibert’s ‘Hommage a Mozart’.  Tickets are available now from us on 0753 1440 365 or from St Andrews church office price £10, to include interval refreshments.

March comes in with a lively evening when we will be in Countesthorpe Village Hall with comic twins Victor and Albert ‘discovering all things British’.  This pair entertained us very successfully a few years ago, don’t miss this repeat visit.  Tickets are available from Active Arts on 0753 1440 365 through e mail on or from Glebe Gardens phone 0116 2771570, adults £10, concessions £8 and full time students £2.

Our Annual Art Exhibition is in Countesthorpe College on Saturday and Sunday, March 12th and 13th, opening times on Saturday 1 until 5 and Sunday 1030 until 4, with some 300 exhibits by local artists, many for sale.  Entrance will be £2 which will include a cup of coffee as you sit among the art work — quite a treat!

Later in March don’t miss the Big Band Night – youthful musicians who delight us every year, again in Countesthorpe College, with tickets available as above but slightly cheaper-and on Saturday, March 19th we will be running a Mini Craft Market and Cream Tea at Countesthorpe College.  This is a new venture and will be open from 10 until 4 in the main foyer and dining areas.
