CASH MACHINE CHARGES

Dear Editor,

I have been disappointed to notice that the cash machine at the side of the McColl's convenience store now charges £1.25 for withdrawals. It is easy to forget that, not too long ago, the village had two bank branches. Is my memory playing tricks or, when the Alliance & Leicester and NatWest closed their branches, weren't we promised that the new ATM would not charge?
