ECO-TOWN 

Following the news released by the Department for Communities & Local Government, the draft eco-town Planning Policy Statement consultation has been extended until 30th April. In Leicestershire we have had independent report after independent report criticising the Co-op's plans for their 15,000-home Pennbury eco-town, and recently a long list of the County Council's objections were made public.

We are disputing the Government's latest report produced by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) on the construction costs for Pennbury. However, at this stage the odds are still stacked in favour of the Government accepting the plan.

On 6th and 7th June, we are holding a Pennbury Festival at Stackley House, Stretton Rd (opposite Pennbury Farm). On 6th from 11am to 11pm there will be various Leicestershire bands, stage events, acoustic tent events, etc. £10 or £15 on the day. Children under 10 years FOC. Car parking £5. On 7th from 11am to 6pm there's a family fun day £5. Children under 10 years FOC. Free parking. All money goes towards the campaign.
