EVINGTON GARDEN CLUB Do you enjoy your garden? Evington Garden Club members do, and they also enjoy belonging to our club which meets in the Village Hall on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7.15pm (see the posters in the village). Our programme includes talks, outings and events with gardening in mind. So why not give Evington Garden Club a try? In January our programme included: ‘A Gardener's Journey' (a journey round the world with roses in mind) by Ann Bird, President of the National Rose Society. In February it was ‘Winter Pruning' and we welcomed David Penny from Gretham Garden Centre, who gave the club tips on pruning and how to tidy up the garden for the coming months. In March it was ‘Plants of Tibet' by Hazel Kaye, the well-known plantswoman. In April it will be ‘ Britain 's Back Gardens ' by Matthew Biggs and in May we have ‘Lavenders' by Joan Head. Visitors are welcome at £1 per person and yearly membership at present is £7. |
