PENTECOST IN THE PARK – COME TO THE PARTY!

Within the Christian tradition Pentecost (or Whitsunday as it used to be known) is the birth of the church when the disciples of Jesus were empowered by God to go out and tell people about Him. So Pentecost is the church's birthday and so this year we want to have a birthday party and everyone is invited. When we say everyone we mean just that; those of Christian faith, those of other faiths, those who are unsure of their faith and those of no faith – all are invited to our birthday party.

It takes place on Sunday 31st May in Evington Park and as it is a party there will be games for children and others: a bouncy castle, face painting, egg and spoon and sack races to mention just a few. And as it is a party there will be food – there will be separate barbecues cooking beef burgers and sausages and a separate one cooking veggie burgers and veggie-sausages. And as it is a party you are all invited and it is free. Before and after lunch there will be music supplied by Goodwood and St. Denys Church for those who like to sing – but listening is good too. We hope to have a mime artist and a drama group to explain the significance of our celebration to us as Christians. This will be explained by Ian Jones, the head pastor at All Nations Church , either side of lunch.

We start at about 11.30am with games and music, lunch is at about 12.30pm and music and games will continue until 3.00pm or longer if you wish.

So please come and help us celebrate our birthday party – you are very welcome. We hope to see you from 11.30am on Sunday 31st May.
