EVINGTON VILLAGE FETE AND SHOW

The 2009 Fête and Show will take place on the Village Green on Saturday August 8th from 12.00 noon until 5.00pm.

Just in case it should rain (!) we are planning to hire a second marquee to enable us to offer more activities undercover. This is subject to the successful outcome of a grant application made to the Leicester City Council Community Cohesion Fund.

For your entertainment we have booked a ‘Have-a-Go Circus Workshop', and music and dancers will be provided by the Seaforth Highlanders Pipe Band. We are in the process of booking an Apiarist, Pole Lathe Wood Turner and a Willow Weaver. Also Biffa have promised a display of composting and reusing/recycling.

The final programme will be confirmed nearer the date.

One new category for the show is ‘Grow your own Coleus'. Simply go and see Steve Bennett at Bennett's store on Main Street and he will give a packet of five seeds to anyone of any age who would like to have a go at entering in this category. Full instructions come when you collect the seeds. So if you haven't entered the show before now is your chance!
