WHAT'S COOKING? All those lovely autumn fruits crying out for a crumble topping. Plum crumble, apple crumble, blackberry crumble, whatever-fruits-you-fancy crumble! Try this topping – it's a bit different from the traditional crumble topping. It's easy, foolproof and absolutely yummy. 3 oz (75 g) plain wholemeal flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 2 oz (50 g) butter or soft margarine 2 oz (50 g) brown sugar 3 oz (75 g) jumbo porridge oats 4 tablespoons sunflower oil Rub the fat into the flour and baking power. Mix in the sugar, oats and sunflower oil. Cover prepared fruit and bake in the oven for 20 minutes on a medium heat until browned. Serve with a big dollop of fresh cream, piping hot custard or ice cream. Your choice!
