(SPENCEFIELD ACTION CAMPAIGN FOR THE ENVIRONMENT)

Dear Editor,

SPACE was formed in 1991 to campaign against the proposal to route the EDDR (Eastern District Distributor Road) along Spencefield Lane. Donations were collected at this time and used for the campaign.Members of the original committee now believe that the proposed Co-op Eco town represents a real threat to the environment in Evington and will lead to increased traffic flow along Spencefield Lane and in the surrounding area. We therefore intend to donate the residue of funds collected to CASCET. This will take place on or shortly after 5 September 2008.
