HELP WITH READING THE ECHO If you find the print size of this newspaper difficult, then please don't struggle. You can phone Vista on 249 0909 and arrange for a tape or disc to be posted to your house free of charge. You also get a stamped addressed envelope to post the CD or tape back. This service is available for people who are partially sighted or find it a bit tiring to read. Four local volunteers meet six times a year to make a recording of all the articles in every issue of the Echo. Many of these volunteers have been people who previously worked on the Echo team, like Peggy Odom and Chris Davies. Ella Serle has been a reader since this service began and was also an Advertisement Manager for over 16 years. She reads with her team of Bill Mann, Elizabeth Freeman, Valerie Wright and Marcia Jones. “I think the Echo gets it just about right now” said Ella, “ I wish the print size could be a bit larger!” |
