LIONS GIVE EVINGTON RESIDENTS A TREAT

Twenty-five Evington residents enjoyed a wonderful trip to Wisbech in Norfolk to see the Walpole St. Peter's Church Flower Festival. This festival, which is in its 47th year, is one of the oldest and grandest of its kind with a huge display of choice blooms inside the church and many stalls outside.

The trip was by courtesy of the Leicester Host Lions Club in Evington and kindly organised with the help of Lily McAlinden (from the Tenants' and Residents' Association.) Lions are an international organisation that also works at a local level, with the motto ‘we serve'. Their work in the community focuses on various projects. For the past three months, the Lions have been running a Welcome Club. You can find them at Evington House in Evington Park every Monday from 10.00am to 12 noon. (See advert on page 2).

If you are interested in helping Lions with fundraising for the benefits of this community, please contact 210 8131 or come along on Monday morning.
