ST DENYS CHURCH FUNDING PROGRAMME During the month of September St Denys Church is undertaking a Funding Programme. Four years ago we held a similar programme which was very successful, but as overheads are rising, and some of our existing givers have either moved away or died, we now need to increase our income once again. The Funding Programme will be launched on Sunday 6th September with a service in church at 11am, followed by a ploughman's lunch in the Village Hall, to which people will have received an invitation. On that occasion information will be given about the programme and how we can all help St Denys Church to pay its way. We believe that day to day expenses should be paid for by those with an interest in the church, either by worshipping regularly there, coming to the occasional service, using the church for weddings or funerals or just because it is their parish church. In the weeks following the launch service visits will be made to people who have expressed a wish for a visitor to contact them, to discuss different ways of giving or perhaps to help with filling in a form. We understand that many people are in a difficult financial situation at the present time, but hope that perhaps some people who have not given regularly before may feel able to make a small regular commitment. Regular giving, particularly if it is Gift Aided, is a very valuable source of income. Our programme ends with a Thanksgiving Service at St Denys at 11am on Sunday 11th October. If you would like further information about the Funding Programme or an invitation to the ploughman's lunch please contact me. Ann Bennett, Churchwarden, St Denys
