A massive clean up at Lilly Marriot Gardens on 5th March 2016 was organised through the Coleman Evington Tenants Residents Association (CETR) who worked in collaboration with Parks Services and involved volunteers from the Probation Service and Police Cadets.
Jamal Abdulla, Chair of CETR said, “I want to give a big thank you to the volunteers from CETR, the Probation Service and the Police Cadets. We worked from 10am to 4pm on 5th March on an overcast and sometimes rainy day, and managed to clear a huge area of scrub and replant around the pond’s edge. Everyone got stuck in and were engaging with people they had never met before.”
Andy Dhillon, Parks Officer, said, “It was brilliant to see everyone getting involved”.
CETR plan to hold another clean-up event in this park in the summer.
