ST JOSEPH'S CHURCH, UPPINGHAM ROAD
On Sunday mornings, up to 40 children attend our very active children's liturgy lessons, which are held in their own meeting room within our Parish Hall complex. On the feast day of St Francis of Assisi , the children prepared prayers and displayed them on a beautiful banner of the saint, together with some drawings of their own pets. Then the children join the Sunday morning congregation, to share their work and prayers. On this occasion Father Daley took the opportunity to bless parishioner Paul's new guide dog, Foster, who is also a regular Mass goer. The recent Macmillan Coffee Morning together with raffle and bric-a-brac sale, succeeded in raising £421. Everyone is welcome to visit our Watermead Shop (entrance is via the car park) which is packed with seasonal items including cards, calendars and cribs. Opening hours are: Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 10.30am to 3.30pm, Saturday 5.00pm – 5.50pm and Sunday 11.45am – 12.45pm. Gail Gray |
