EVINGTON IN BLOOM WELCOMES JUDGES – JULY 2019

Evington in Bloom welcomed judges Jo Tarrant and Julie Walker to Evington in July 2019.  They were taken on a 3 hour tour which included Evington Park, Graceworks, Main Street Evington, the Village Green, the War Memorial, Downing Drive Friends and Neighbours, The Dove, the Best Front Garden on Spencefield Lane, Hilltop Allotments, Piggy’s Hollow and St. Denys Church.

The judges were impressed with the new projects in Evington Park, at Graceworks and St. Denys Church and pleased to see the upkeep of some old projects.  We won’t get the final results and the report until September 2019, but the expectation is for Silver Gilt with higher marks.

All changes to a neighbourhood need evaluation, so it is particularly good to have Royal Horticultural Society/East Midlands in Bloom judges come and comment on how things look in Evington.  They have clear judging criteria and mark for (1) Community involvement (2) Environmental responsibility and (3) Gardening Achievement
