EVINGTON FLOWER CLUB

Our November meeting welcomed Marilyn Ottewell, whose demonstration entitled ‘Candles and Carols' was accompanied by music. We also enjoyed the company of a number of visitors from Oadby Flower Club.

The impact of the display of flowers filled the stage with colour and imagination and provided us with a lovely afternoon of beauty and peace. Each arrangement had a title such as ‘The Stable', ‘The Shepherds, ‘Madonna' and ‘The Three Kings', all with appropriate carols. Candles of attractive colours, occasional swathes of fabric and superb lighting enhanced the arrangements. Our demonstrator was a lady of charm and ingenuity. Her husband, who gave invaluable assistance with fetching and carrying, accompanied her.

This was a great end to our year. Next year promises another series of delights again. I say, do try and join us as a visitor (or a member) you will be very welcome.
