ST PAUL 'S SCHOOL - COMMUNITY NEWS St Paul 's School Community is ambitious to develop the school in order to make it an even better place for teaching and learning. Parents and pupils are aware of the limitations of space and design within the current buildings and site. Think what could be achieved with modern buildings, facilities and equipment. For some time there have been two obstacles to development at St Paul 's – funding and space. Hopefully the BSF (Building Schools for the Future) announcement will lead to a resolution of the first obstacle, a major funding injection for rebuilding and re-equipping the school. The BSF project might also help to resolve the second difficulty, the proposed acquisition of the Leicester Grammar Junior School site. This would provide an opportunity to develop a place of excellence for teaching and learning to meet the needs of current and future generations of students, and extend provision to the wider community. Over the coming weeks and months students will be involved in a series of activities that will allow them to share their opinions and ideas on how St Paul 's should shape the vision for the future of their school community. Keep up to date with news of developments and subsequent meetings by visiting: The recent planning application for a housing development on the Leicester Grammar Junior School site is currently going through the usual consultation process. To date there is no further information. Sue Massey |
