FUNDER INFORMATION – FRIENDS OF EVINGTON 2012 – 2020
For the 3 accounts (Evington Echo, Evington in Bloom and Friends of Evington) that are consolidated each year.
Evington Echo is funded by local businesses that advertise in the 16 page A4 paper that is distributed once every two months to £5,950 homes in the Evington area.
Evington in Bloom has received funding for three years in succession from the Co-operative Society and ward funding. Every year Evington in Bloom holds a fundraising and community event in May to raise funds.
Friends of Evington has received funding from Leicester City Council when Helen Pettman (on behalf of Friends of Evington) was opening up Evington Park House for new groups under ‘Transforming Neighbourhood Services’ and received 20% of the income from the hirer.
Friends of Evington received £2,000 from DEFRA for peat free compost.
Awards for All (Lottery Funding) gave £9,850 for a 5m x 3m cabin and TCV courses and other items. This project was initially based at Rowlatt’s Hill Allotments but has now moved to Hilltop Allotments.
Leicester City Council (Food growing) gave £1,000 for a polytunnel.
Friends of Evington has received membership subscriptions (£5 individual and £10 group), and individual donations.
Friends of Evington received £23,000 from ‘Leicester Adult School Union’ because this charity was closing down. The trustees agreed it should be spent for educational purposes. The following has been agreed. £1950 to Mayflower Primary School for their Hilltop allotment project. £12,000 on a large hut at Hilltop Allotment for gardening and community/education purposes.
