PRINCE VISITS EVINGTON
The Prince of Wales recently visited St Philip’s Centre on Evington Road.
From left to right: The Rev Andrew Wingate, Director of the Centre and Sheikh Ibrahim Mogra, an imam at Musjid Umar and a member of the Muslim Council of Britain (These two men are also joint heads of the National Christian Muslim Forum) and Prince Charles. Prince Charles also met Resham Singh Sandhu of Leicester Council of Faiths and volunteers at the Centre.
St Philip’s is an inter-faith centre working to bring communities together. This was exemplified by a five-a-side football match.
The Prince described the venture as a ‘living example of unity through diversity’. |
