MAYFLOWER METHODIST CHURCH

Our “Golden Fayre” on May 17th was a great success, and several former ‘regulars' were able to be present. The Hall and the entrance (and the trees in the garden!) were decorated with golden and yellow balloons, and many of the stall holders continued the theme with appropriate costumes.

One of our members, Louis Springette, passed away in March, and is much missed. He was well-known in the cricket community, and was honoured at Grace Road when his ashes were scattered on the pitch, the players held a minute's silence and wore black arm bands.

Our Golden Anniversary continues on Saturday and Sunday, June 21st and 22nd, with a weekend of “REMEMBERING AND REJOICING”, when the Church will be decorated with memorabilia from all the 50 years of Mayflower, and the Hall will house displays from the various user groups. The Sunday preacher will be Rev Gareth West, whose family was closely associated with Mayflower for many years.
