SUPPORTING THE PARK AND VILLAGE GREEN

The combined committees of the Friends of Evington Park and Village Green are working well together. They have organised two events on the park, submitted a bid for the Burnaby Gardens, (the area near Evington House, formally called the Sensory Gardens) and put in another bid for small play equipment. Recently they circulated some questionnaires asking for feedback about the play equipment needs in the Park and Village Green.

The group are dedicated to helping improve these open space areas for all and were rewarded when they heard that they had been shortlisted for the small grants category of the Biffa Awards, 2008. This award recognises the achievements of projects that have made a real difference to their communities.

Would you like to become a Friend of Evington Park and Village Green? This would involve paying £2 a year membership, and for this you would receive a newsletter three times a year. You would also have more details of events and the opportunity to get involved. Sunday 17th August ‘Shoot the Fiddler'. Irish music. 2-4pm

Children's Summer Fun from 30th July to 15th August.

Wednesdays 10 – 12 Athletics. Thursdays 10 – 12 Environmental activities.
