LEICESTER – CITY SERIES OF LECTURES

‘City Series’ is a new public lecture series in Leicester focussing on a wide range of urban topics, such as architecture, planning, history and geography. It is being organised by Leicester City Council in collaboration with De Montfort University, the University of Leicester and Loughborough University. The inaugural talk on Thursday 26th January will be delivered by Sir Peter Soulsby and will focus on the development of Leicester and its future. A related exhibition at the event will feature historic plans relating to how Leicester developed, including old plans of Evington. Future events this year will be led by academics from the three local universities and will focus on a diverse range of topics, such as gentrification, waymarking and urban design, designing for healthy cities, and the historic development of place identity in Leicester.
