Leicester Libraries – Summer Reading Challenge 2015

 

Evington Library is running a Summer Reading Challenge this year between Wednesday 1st July and the 31st of August on the theme of ‘Record Breakers’. It is aimed at children aged from 0-15 years of age.

Participants will need to visit the library 6 times and read 6 books to win some great Record Breakers treats. Some of these include stickers, a wristband and a Record Breakers gold medal and certificate upon completion of the challenge.

A Pledge Day will be held at the library on Saturday 11th July to set a Guinness World Record for the highest number of people pledging to take part in a children’s reading campaign. There will also be some fun activities for children to take part in on the day.

Evington library will also be holding a free ‘mini challenge drop-in day’ on Wednesday 12th August between 10 am and 4 pm where there will be an opportunity to take part in whole host of enjoyable activities including sharing and writing stories, building card castles and seeing whose paper plane can fly the furthest.
