EVINGTON PARK BOWLING CLUBS

The Bowling Spider. Everyone bowls at the same
time and the winner is the one nearest to the jack.

During the 2008 season, charity events, held by both the Evington Park Men's and Evington Ladies' Bowling Clubs, raised in excess of £800.

In a bowls match, on Sunday afternoon, 7th September, following a period of heavy rain, the clouds opened at last to allow the sun to shine on the Evington Park men's gala.

40 players took part in a bowls match which was followed by a sumptuous buffet tea enjoyed by players and guests. The occasion was taken to present cheques to the Presidents' chosen charities.

The photograph shows the Ladies' Club President Mrs. Angela Boyce presenting a cheque to Mr Alan Beavon, local representative of ‘The Children's Society'. Another cheque was given to the Leicster Hospitals' Charity Trust, specifically for the L.G.H. Stroke Unit. The club President wishes to thank all those who organised, attended and took part in the Charity Gala.

Anyone interested in taking up bowling on Evington Park should phone 273 5487.
