MAYFLOWER METHODIST CHURCH

After the August/September issue of the Evington Echo with its wonderful spread about our 50th Anniversary exhibition, how can we follow that? Mayflower Methodist Church carries on with its weekly services of worship every Sunday morning at 10.30am. There are also various activities during the week, including the Women's Fellowship on Mondays at 2.30pm. children's dancing classes, adult dancing and the Leicester Symphony Orchestra's rehearsals. Other groups also use our premises on a regular basis.

The next ‘special' occasion will be Advent Sunday on 30th November, with a candlelight service at 4pm, and the Anniversary weekend on 6th/7th December. On Saturday 6th there will be a Christmas Tree Festival in the Church. This exhibition will be open from 10.30am to 4pm on Saturday and also from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday, 7th December, the culmination of our 50th celebrations, when the preacher at 10.30am will be Rev Dr Eric Lott, a very popular past minister of Mayflower Church .

Old friendships are very important in a community, and this year we have had six 80th birthdays, five 70th birthdays and just one 60th birthday.
