THANKS TO EVINGTON RESIDENTS

Dear Editor,

Staff and governors at St Paul's would like to send their heartfelt thanks to all those Evington residents who joined with their parents and supporters in making formal objections to the proposal to redevelop the Leicester Grammar Junior school site formerly shared with St Paul's.  The Echo's reporting of the meeting in July was an important part in raising awareness of the school's position.  There were 365 objections to the plan to redesignate the land around the hall for residential development and 295 for the plan to redevelop the Hall as 6 luxury flats.  There is no news yet on the planning department's decision but the school looks forward to sharing its site and its resources with the Evington community if its bid is successful.  Once again our sincere thanks.
